Katie prototype

0-6-0 well tank built by Arne Jung, Junganthal, Germany in 1931 (works no.3872).

This locomotive spent most of its working life on Sugar Cane Railway, British Cameroons Develpment Corpration as No.201.

In 1973 it arrived in England via Liverpool aboard ‘Oranyan’ going first to Ripley then to Tavistock.

Overhauled by Alan Keef Ltd., Cote, Oxfordshire, then 16/8/80 to BWLR

From Spring 2011 until October 2013 Katie underwent some major work. A new boiler/firebox was built in house and a new chimney in keeping with the original chimney was constructed.

Katie returned to public service on Sunday 6 October 2013.
